A woman and her dog were hit by a car that failed to stop while attempting to cross a pedestrian crossing on a busy road in Ennis.
A Garda investigation is underway following the hit and run incident on the Tulla Road, shortly after half past six yesterday evening.
Having received the green light, the young woman was halfway across the pedestrian crossing at the Certa Filling station, near Coffee Rush, when she and her dog were struck by a vehicle that failed to stop and continued outbound on the Tulla Road.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may dashcam footage from the Tulla Road yesterday or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100.
