A woman was airlifted to hospital after sustaining what's described as "a serious leg injury" in a fall near the Cliffs of Moher yesterday.

The woman, understood to be a French tourist, was assisted by the members of the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard after the fall which occurred at around 2 o'clock.
The Shannon-based Rescue Helicopter then transported her to University Hospital Galway for treatment after she was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
