Father of one , named locally as Thomas Nowakowski – died after being struck by a vehicle just 100 metres from his home in Toberteascain
The results of a post-mortem on the body of the 38 year old have concluded he died as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic collision
Its understood Thomas Nowakowski was on two weeks holidays from his job at Hillbilly’s fast food restaurant on O’Connell Street in Ennis town centre when he was struck by a car near his home in the Toberteascain area on Wednesday night.
His wife and 18 month old daughter recently returned home to Poland for a brief visit.
Yesterday Gardaí were making efforts to contact her while its understood a co- worker formally identified his remains following a postmortem carried out by Dr Marie Cassdy at the Mid West Regional Hospital in Limerick
Several people have been helping Gardaí with their inquiries into Mr Nowakowski’s death including a woman who is believed to have presented herself at Ennis Garda Station claiming she had run over somebody.
She’s likely to face further questioning today while witnesses are still being asked to contact Ennis Garda Station.
