One of the key events of Clare’s traditional music calendar begins today, with the opening classes, concerts and ceili’s of the Willie Clancy Summer School.
Large crowds will descend on Miltown Malbay for the event, which is entering it’s fortieth year.

Events will run through to next weekend, and many of those see tributes paid to the festival’s founder Muiris O’Rochain, who passed away last year.
Among the tributes to Muiris is a new scholarship in his name which will be presented at an event in his honour this Thursday.
His son Seamus O’Rochain has told Clare FM that the festival will be a poignant occasion for all ofhis family
