The Ennis Fire Service was called out to deal with two wildfires last night.
The first was reported at Tulloughboy near Connolly at 9:20 last night, and was dealt with by around 10:00.
Firefighters then travelled from Ennis to another fire at Booltiagh near Lissycasey, and stayed there for around two hours before returning to base at midnight.
More serious gorse fires were reported in South Galway, meanwhile.
Visibility was said to be poor on the main Gort-Loughrea road for a while, as fire personnel from both towns fought fires for over four hours in the Derrybrien/Castledaly area.
