There's been widespread anger and some genuine concern in parts of Clare since Eircodes became available yesterday morning.
The system uses addresses which link an area to their main postal sorting office, and in 5% of cases this means a property reads as being in another county.
The rate in Clare though is much higher, as in Shannon and large parts of East Clare, a Limerick address is recorded, while it's Galway for some in Tubber and Ballyvaughan.
Frances Cinnane of Shannon's Oakwood Arms Hotel fears the mistake will see their prospective customers go elsewhere.
While there are other issues too, including a lack of Eircodes for some and even wrong spellings.
Eircode has defended the 27 million euro system.
They insist that people can still use their old addresses, albeit with the new codes added, while they also say the correct locations will be displayed when eircodes become compatible with Sat Navs and mapping software.
However spokesman Liam Duggen told Clare FM's Morning Focus that the confusion of the addresses may be reviewed.
