The UL Hospitals Group has been forced into the widespread cancellation of appointments today as the HSE continues to battle the fallout from a cyber attack on its systems.
All outpatient clinics, including paediatric appointments are cancelled across the group’s six sites in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.
All elective inpatient and day case procedures remain cancelled, with the exception of time-critical cases, with diagnostics and endoscopy services also postponed, and the Group says patients should not present for such appointments unless contacted directly.
Maternity services, dialysis treatment, cancer day wards, UHL’s acute fracture unit and the COVID-19 vaccination centres across the Midwest remain fully operational.
Chief Clinical Director of the UL Hospitals Group, Professor Brian Lenehan is appealing for patience from people across the region.
