A West Clare woman has spoken of the “constant battle” she’s fighting against an extensive mould problem in her home.
Martina, who lives in a social home in the Gort an Clochair estate in Kilrush, claims she’s been forced to contend with dampness in her residence since she first moved in 15 years ago.
It comes one day after Shannon resident and COPD sufferer Sue Egan shared her story of mould in her Cúl na Gréine home which she believes is making her condition worse.
In a statement to Clare FM, Clare County Council says it “cannot comment on individual cases” and that “all property issues reported to the Council are logged, investigated, and actioned in a timely manner”.
Speaking to Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Martina, who also has COPD and is living with an acquired brain injury, says she shouldn’t have to highlight the issue publicly for it to be addressed.
