West Clare Principal Says Modified Leaving Cert Giving Students Confidence

A West Clare principal believes the modifications made to this year’s Leaving Cert exams has instilled confidence in students that they won’t suffer as a result of the impact the Covid-19 pandemic had on their preparations.

This year’s Leaving Certs will have more choice and fewer questions to answer within standard exam time limits.

Students have also been promised that their grades overall won’t be lower than the inflated results seen in 2021.

Paul Reidy is principal at St. Joseph’s Secondary School in Spanish Point where 56 senior cycle students are sitting the state exams and he says the modifications have helped ease the pressure on students.
