West Clare Principal Says Lack Of Resources Behind Unwillingness To Sign Up To Summer Provision

The educational programme, formerly known as July provision, is targeted to deliver tuition for children who have special needs and attend a mainstream schools or special schools.

St Joseph’s Secondary School in Spanish Point has decided to continue with their home- based programme, rather than signing up to it, with their Principal saying the amount of resources the Department is willing to allocate towards the school based programme doesn’t make sense.

Paul Reidy says he was concerned about the school’s ability to deliver the best outcomes for children with a huge range of complex needs.
