A West Clare post office which was recently the victim of a robbery has hit its €50,000 target within four days of launching a fundraiser.
Following the criminal incident at Carrigaholt Post Office in late January, an online fundraiser was launched last week with the aim of acquiring funds to install security measures, allow the business to “reopen with confidence” and create a small convenience store on site.

Since the GoFundMe page was set up on Thursday, a total of €52,375 has been donated.
Local woman Mags Keane says they’re blown away by the generosity from nearby as well as overseas.
