West Clare Parent Hits Out At School Costs

A West Clare parent insists that back to school costs have spiralled out of control.

It follows the latest Irish League of Credit Union report which found the average spend for a primary student is 1 thousand euro a year, with a third of parents going into debt because of back to school costs.

It's advising parents not to turn to moneylenders, but to budget and to shop around for the best value.

Maria Judge from Kilmihil has two sons and daughters aged 16, 12 and 10 and she says she's at her wit's end.
