West Clare Mother Concerned About Scope Of New Surrogacy Laws

A West Clare mother is expressing concern about the scope of new laws which will see surrogacy regulated in Ireland for the first time.

Fiona Whyte from Miltown Malbay is mother to Ruby and Donal, both born through a surrogate at a clinic in India, and since then they have faced challenges because of the vague surrogacy laws.

Proposed new laws would bring it some legal status but, worryingly for some parents, will not change the status quo for those who have already opted for international surrogates.
