The newly elected Leas Cathaoirleach of West Clare Municipal District is hopeful that funding will be sought for the Corofin Enhancement Strategy within the next four months.

After a further planning and consultation stage, an application is due to be made to the Rural Regeneration and Development funding stream.
The plan includes suggestions to target St. Catherine’s Church, Riverview house and to build a car park between the community hall and the national school and a plaza in front of the workhouse building.
Fianna Fail councillor, Joe Killeen, says the project will renew interest in the town for locals and tourists.
