The postponement of a long-running fundraising event in West Clare isn’t expected to have a negative effect on turnout.
Now in its 27th year, the West Clare Cancer Centre Mini Marathon usually takes place on the last Sunday in January but has been pushed back to February 2nd so it doesn’t clash with the first round of the National Hurling League in which Clare take on Kilkenny in Cusack Park.
Walkers are advised to meet at the Kilkee Community Centre at 12:30pm on the day with the walk beginning at 1pm at which time runners will congregate ahead of the run at 1:30pm.
Chairman of the West Clare Cancer Centre Willie McGrath says the event is a cornerstone of its fundraising calendar.
