Dozens of acres of land in Doonbeg, and in Ballynacally and Kildysart were submerged in water following storm damage early last year.

A decision on works to bolster defences was expected early this month following a visit by the Minister with responsibility for the OPW Simon Harris in July but farmers have not yet been informed of any decision.

Clare TD Michael McNamara fears they'll face another winter in danger of flooding if the green light isn't given soon.

Tom Finn, a Suckler Farm owner from Lacknashanna says a decision needs to be made in the coming days.
