West Clare Councillors Call For Reduced VAT Rate For Rural Towns And Villages

West Clare Councillors are calling on the Government to step up to the mark and accept their responsibilities to protect our towns and villages.

A motion has been passed at the West Clare Municipal District meeting calling on the Finance Minister to introduce a fifty per reduction in VAT rates for struggling towns and villages.

The move is being suggested as part of an urban renewal scheme which would ensure job creation and encourage business to occupy vacant commercial properties.
