A West Clare Councillor says the arrival of Ukrainian refugees has crystallised the deficit of services in rural areas which developed over the past 15 years.
There are currently 4,225 refugees staying in Clare, the majority of which are housed in hotel accommodation.

Almost 42% of those who have arrived, settled in the North of the county, however, 300 were accommodated in Kilkee.
Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy says the increase in the population of rural areas has highlighted the extent to which services were removed.
