West Clare Councillor Appeals To Seafield Landowners To Consider Selling To Council To Facilitate Accessibility Works

A West Clare Councillor is issuing a call to action to landowners in Seafield to consider selling to the local authority in order to facilitate accessibility works in the area.

Funding had previously been secured for a co-ordinated carpark to accommodate the large crowds which visit the pier and beach in the summer, but this was withdrawn after an agreement couldn’t be reached with all landowners in the area.

Locals have long campaigned for action to be taken as presently cars park on both sides of the narrow track leading to the shore, causing fears that emergency services would not be able to access the site if needed.

Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy is appealing to individuals or groups in the area who own land near the pier to reach out if they’d be willing to sell.
