This Week Sees Lowest Level Of PUP Claimants In Clare Since Beginning Of Pandemic

The number of people claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment in Clare is now at its lowest level since the beginning of the pandemic.

3,652 people here received the government support this week according to the Department of Social Protection – a drop of more than 600 in seven days.

It’s less than a quarter of the 14,869 PUP claimants this county had at its peak in May of last year.

Nationally, 163,000 people remain on the payment – a drop of nearly 29,000 on last week’s figure.
