A status yellow weather alert remains in place for Clare and across the country this morning.
Met Éireann has forecast dense fog, with a risk of freezing fog in parts.
The forecaster is also warning of dangerous driving conditions and icy stretches in some areas and motorists are being advised to use their fog lights in affected places and keep a safe distance from the car in front.
