The local authority will have snow ploughs and gritters throughout Clare this morning as snow is set to fall across the county over the coming hours.

Clare County Council is preparing to activate it’s Winter Service Plan, with a yellow snow/ice warning now in place here for the next 24 hours.

While fears of a ‘beast from the east’ style event have been curtailed, between two and five centimetres of snow is still expected to fall in this part of the country.
