A weather alert is now in place for Clare as Storm Amy hits the country.
Met Eireann has issued a status yellow warning for rain for this county, the rest of Munster, as well as Connacht, Cavan, Donegal and Longford.

A status orange alert for rain is also in place for Kerry, with flooding and very difficult travelling conditions expected until this evening.
Those alerts will remain in place until 8 o’clock tonight, while a wind warning for the entire country comes into effect tomorrow.
