The new jobs will be rolled out over the next six months – and recruitment is already underway.

Meanwhile,

Crunch talks are taking place between union reps and management at Ulster Bank this morning, after the bank announced job 950 job cuts yesterday.

600 of the jobs to be axed are based in the South – the remainder will go in the North, by the end of the year.

The bank says the cutbacks will be achieved on a voluntary basis, but it’s refused to rule out the possibility of compulsory redundancies.
