Uisce Eireann is warning of widespread water outages across West Clare this afternoon.
The utility is currently working to restore normal supply to consumers in Doolough, Miltown Malbay, Quilty, Spanish Point, Coore, Creegh, Kilmacduane, Cooreclare and its surrounding areas.

It follows a mechanical failure at the Old Doolough Wastewater Treatment plant near Kilmurry Ibrickane.
Repair works are scheduled to take place until 5pm this evening, however cosumers in affected areas are advised that it could take an additional two to three hours for supply to fully return.
