Warning That New Policies Needed To Save Rural Ireland

A prominent Clare priest has warned that new political policies are needed to revitalise rural Ireland, and soon.

Sixmilebridge parish priest Fr. Harry Bohan, who is also a noted sociologist, has been speaking ahead of an address to the Association of Local Government conference which begins in Ennis tomorrow.

Fr. Bohan will tell the Councillors from throughout the country that Ireland is a two-tier nation, and that while the country has focussed on growing the economy, social matters have typically been neglected.
