Warning Issued To Clare Drivers As Temperatures Are Set To Plummet Again

Motorists are advised to avoid the Cork Screw Hill area of North Clare this afternoon, as the county deploys a snow plough there to clear the roads.

While the majority of roads have thawed following last night’s subzero temperatures, elevated areas remain at risk – issues have also been reported around the Miltown area and on hilly parts near Killaloe.

Temperatures are set to drop once again tonight and following an afternoon of heavy rain, it’s feared conditions will be even more treacherous tomorrow.
