Clare County Council and the Environmental Protection Agency are warning that bathing water at four Clare beaches may be impacted by heavy rainfall today.
A pre-emptive warning was issued on Friday after Met Eireann issued a status yellow rainfall alert for the county this afternoon and evening.

The warning from the state forecaster kicked in at 2am and remains in place until midnight.
Beaches which may be impacted are Kilkee, Lahinch, Spanish Point and White Strand.
