The Executive Director of MidWest Rape Crisis Centre is welcoming the launch of a new series of vulnerability training courses for the night-time sector.
The courses, developed by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media will aim to create a safer environment for all, safeguard the vulnerable and prevent violence against women.
The Department has developed these courses in partnership with a number of groups, including the Restaurant Association of Ireland, the Licensed Vintners Association, and the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland.
Executive Director of MidWest Rape Crisis Centre, Miriam Duffy, says courses are welcome but the safety of the public is everyone’s responsibility.
