Gardaí spoke with members of a traveller encampment near a Sixmilebridge graveyard last night, after a dozens of locals had gathered in anger at their presence.
Local representatives say up to 100 people assembled in the town's GAA pitch, amid concerns about the presence of the travellers near Ballysheen Graveyard, and that the situation was 'volatile'

Gardaí spoke with the group, to avoid a confrontation, and then informed the travellers of the situation – they subsequently left the area overnight.
