Vitalograph has signaled its intention to move into a premises in Ballymaley Business Park.

It’s after the medical device company committed to creating 200 new jobs across Ennis and Limerick earlier this year.

Clare County Council purchased a building in Ballymaley, next to TTM Healthcare, for a total of €800,000.

It was purchased with the intention of attracting foreign direct investment in conjunction with the Ennis 2040 plan.

However, at a meeting of Ennis Councillors this week, it’s emerged Vitalograph has submitted a tender to purchase the building, understood to be for in the region of €1.2 million.

The firm is a global leader in the development and production of respiratory diagnostic devices and has been present in Ennis since 1974.

It committed to a €10 million investment over two years across both the county town and a new site in Limerick back in the Spring.

Vitalograph has told Clare FM the ‘proposed acquisition is primarily to accommodate [their] continued international growth’.

It’s understood the purchase, if it gets the green light, could result in greater opportunities for job creation in the Ennis area.
