West Clare is continuing to prove a hit with tourists.

With Loop Head Peninsula already declared the best place to holiday in Ireland this year, the area has been given another boost throughout the year with strong visitor numbers to Loop Head Lighthouse.
Figures released by Clare County Council and the Commissioners of Irish Lights show that 19,000 people visited Loop Head Lighthouse in the six months up to last weekend, an increase of 2,000 on the same timeframe last year.
A quarter of those who sampled with stunning views on the tip of West Clare were overseas visitors to Ireland.
