Visiting restrictions Remain At Unit 5B University Hospital Limerick

Visiting restrictions remain in place on one ward at the region's main hospital following an outbreak of the winter vommitting bug.

The restrictions are part of a series of infection control measures at Unit 5b, University Hospital Limerick, which is managed by HSE MidWest Community Healthcare.

The HSE says the situation is improving, with less affected patients, but says the current control procedures are remainnig in the interest of patient safety.

There have been two confirmed cases of the Norovirus at the unit.
