Visiting ban at Dooradoyle due to Winter Vomiting outbreak

Hospital visiting hours at Dooradoyle have been restricted due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The HSE has put a ban on visiting – with the exception of critical care after five confirmed and one suspected of the norovirus in three areas of the regional hospital.

Out patient, day care services and routine hospital admissions are not affected, however members of the public will be asked to provide their appointment cards for inspection by security at the hospital.

Children under fourteen, should not visit the hospital, especially the Paediatric unit and attendance at the Accident and Emergency Department should only be if absolutely necessary.

The HSE is urging the public to  co-operate fully with the advice and instruction of staff.
