It's hoped a new initiative which allows people to take a virtual walk along some of Clare's best known walking trails will see them check out the real version for themselves.

The Google Trekker program saw routes including the Cliffs of Moher walk, the Lough Avalla Loop, the Ballycuggeran Loop, the O'Briens Bridge trail, the Carran Loop and the Blackhead trail recorded by volunteers using specialist rquipment to take 360-degree panoramic photos.
It's the first Irish collection to be included in this scheme after Eoin Hogan, Rural Recreation Officer for Clare Local Development Company, approached Google to get involved.
