A Violent Burglary in South Galway is being described as a callous and cowardly act by the Garda leading up the investigation.
The home of an 80 year old man and his wife in Creggmulgreaney, Craughwell was targetted in the incident on Tuesday night.
The man suffered head injuries and has since been released from hospital however both victims and their neighbours are said to be traumatised following the incident.
A Man hunt has since been launched for the three men believed to have been involved.
Detective Seargent Tom Waters from Loughrea Garda Station says he believes people have information about the raid and is urging anyone who can assist in their enquiries to come forward.
