Vikings Descend On Killaloe For Annual Brian Boru Festival

History will come alive in Killaloe this weekend as fierce and fascinating warriors take over the town.

60 vikings and their majestic ship are descending on the town this afternoon, ahead of a weekend of battle recreations, crafts and tales from the town’s rich heritage.

It’s all part of the 32nd annual Brian Boru festival taking place this week, which features a mix of free and ticketed events, including concerts, workshops, and a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the skies over the River Shannon.

One of the organisers of the event, Arlene White has been telling Clare FM’s Morning Focus that there’s something for everyone.
