Craggaunowen will be transformed into a Viking village next weekend, as the sights and sounds of the ‘Norsemen’ descend on the popular Clare visitor attraction.
The ‘Viking Invasion of Craggaunowen’ weekend takes place between 10am and 5pm this Saturday and Sunday, with a host of events for visitors, including battle demonstrations, replica Viking ships and cooking demonstrations.
Visitors can also take part in traditional pagan workshops such as silversmithing, armoury, fabric-making, hunting and fishing, and each child will also be given a free replica Viking coin to remember the day.
Site Manager at Craggaunowen, Pauline Lenihan thinks that the event will offer great fun for both children and adults.
