A vigil is taking place in Ennis this lunchtime in memory of Savita Halappanavar, to mark five years since her death.
The 31-year-old was 17 weeks pregnant when she passed away at University Hospital Galway due to complications from a septic miscarriage.
Her request for a termination was turned down and her death led to widespread protests and demonstrations calling for a change to abortion legislation.
