A man who died two days after he was hit by a lorry near Ardrahan has been named as Martin Heffernan.

The 47-year-old, who had been living in Labane and was originally from East Galway, was struck while walking near a nursing home on Monday afternoon, and subsequently died at University College Hospital Galway.
