Vice-Chair Of Clare Tourism Expects Ireland To Be Expensive Tourism Destination

The Vice-Chair of Clare Tourism Advisory Forum expects Ireland to be an expensive tourist destination this year.

It comes as Tourism Ireland has launched a new €70 million marketing plan to attract overseas visitors to our shores.

Although the allocation is down €8 million on last years plan, the all-island body intends to focus the budget on promoting regional areas and boosting revenue during the off-season by over 6% every year until 2030.

General Manager of Durty Nellys, Bunratty, Maurice Walsh says he is confident with the plan but there needs to be more details around the tourism spending calculations.
