South East Clare has been at the scene of a bomb scare.

A viable improvised Explosive Device was discovered on a farm in Ardnacrusha last night.
The discovery was made shortly before 1 am this morning and the area was then sealed off.
Gardaí then called in the Army Bomb Disposal Team and the device was made safe without the need fora controlled explosion.
The Army then declared the scene to be safe shortly after 3 am.
Press Officer with the Defence Forces, Captain Pat O Connor told Clare Fm it had the potential to cause serious damage to both people and property.
