‘Vast Majority’ Of Affected Tracker Mortgages Identified

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland has stopped short of saying all those affected by the tracker mortgage scandal have been identified.

Sharon Donnery is in Clare today, to recognise the achievements of the pupils of Coláiste Mhuire in Ennis, as part of the Generation Euro competition.

This week has seen the tracker mortgage scandal hit headlines again, with the banks so far shelling out €580 million in redress to those affected, while 9 in 10 are said to have received some form of compensation.

Around 38,000 mortgage holders have been affected and Ms Donnery admits that, while the vast majority have been identified, investigations are far from over.
