Vandaleur Walled Gardens Development To Provide Much Needed Boost To Local Economy

It’s hoped a multi-million euro redevelopment of the Vandaleur Walled Gardens and Visitor Centre in Kilrush will ultimately lead to a boost in tourist footfall in the area.

10 new permanent jobs have been announced by Clare County Council today, at the signing of a contract with Martins Construction Ltd. for the development of a 140-seater indoor and outdoor café and restaurant.

Following a competitive tender process for the restaurant, award-winning Brambles Café chain, were awarded the tender for operating the new facility, which will allow for Vandeleur Walled Garden and Visitor Centre to cater for corporate and festive events.

It’s anticipated that the new facility will open in June 2024 and Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District, Cllr Ian Lynch has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the spin-off from the purchasing of local goods will also provide a boost to the local economy.
