A “vacuum” of Garda resources is said to be leading to a failure to tackle criminality in east Clare.
Clare County Council has voted to call on the Justice Minister and Garda Commissioner to conduct a review of the Garda divisional structures.

The operating model introduced in August 2023 means some villages in the east of the county are policed by gardaí based at Nenagh Garda Station.
Maghera Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes insists no gardaí responsible for Clare should be leaving the county or travelling from elsewhere.
