UTV has announced plans to launch a new Irish TV channel which would create 100 new jobs.

It’s applied to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland for a Content Provision Contract.
The company has also signed an agreement which will give them the exclusive broadcasting rights for ITV programmes in Ireland, such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale from early 2015.
