A former US baseball star has thanked airline staff, doctors and ambulance personnel at Shannon Airport.

Rusty Staub suffered a heart attack on a flight to the US on Thursday last week, ninety minutes after take-off from Shannon.
Airline staff and doctors on-board the flight performed CPR on the return flight, following which the 71-year-old was transferred to University Hosptial Limerick.
In a statement, Mr Staub has said he was grateful to everybody involved who enable him to feel so well only four days after having such an event.
Mr Staub is a former Major League Baseball player who’s career spanned 23 years with five different teams.
