Urgent Fundraising Appeal From Saint Vincent De Paul

The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul has launched an urgent fundraising appeal as it expects a surge in calls for help from those struggling financially in the coming weeks.

SVP helped 160,000 people in 2019 and expected a 10% increase on that number for this year but now believes that figure will be drastically exceeded by people finding themselves suddenly struggling financially as a result of COVID-19.

The Society’s income has also been hugely reduced as a result of the closure of its 234 shops and cancellation of public collections.
