Labour's Pascal FItzgerald has been granted a full recount of votes in the Shannon electoral area.

The former Deputy Mayor of Clare was eliminated after the seventh count, but his election hopes are now alive after returning officer Michael McNamara announced that all 10562 votes will be re-counted.
Pscal Fitzgerald had trailed the next lowest candidate, David Houlihan (AAA), by just two votes.
