Unmarked Gardaí Out In Force This Bank Holiday Weekend

Clare Gardaí are warning those taking to the roads this St Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday weekend that unmarked cars will be patrolling the county.

A total of 34 people have been killed on Irish roads so far this year, an increase of nine on the same period last year.

This year’s Bank Holiday road safety campaign will focus on seatbelt wearing, drink-driving, distraction driving and speeding.

Extra checkpoints will be mounted across the county, with mandatory breath tests being carried out.
